Why You Should Get a Computer Monitor for Gaming

When looking for a gaming monitor, you want to look for monitors that are fast ( high refresh rate and slow response time ), possibly curved, and can be easily connected via HDMI and or USB 3.

Tip – Finding the right monitor

Your priority should be finding a monitor with the refresh rate, resolution, screen size, and aspect ratio that matches your PC’s performance capabilities.

What to Look for When Buying a Computer Monitor for Gaming

Everyone has different preferences on what is important or not when deciding on a computer monitor, but I want to offer my opinion on the most important things that the best computer monitors for gaming in 2022, should have.

Size

When I say “size”, it means the length of the monitor screen diagonally across in inches. Monitor size depends on what games you want to play. 27 inches accommodates competitive games like League of Legends and MMORPGs, such as World of Warcraft. If the screen is too big, the former requires you to swing your head often to get all the important pieces of information displayed in the corners. If the screen is too small, you can’t enjoy the immersive feeling when playing the latter.

High Refresh Rate

Refresh rate is particularly important for gaming, so look for a refresh rate of at least 120 Hz, combined with a maximum response time of 4ms. Aim for 144Hz and the slowest response time you can find.

Resolution

Resolution is the number of individual points of color ( pixels ) contained on a display monitor, expressed in terms of the number of pixels on the horizontal axis and the number on the vertical axis. “Resolution” indicates how delicate the screen can display. The higher the resolution is, the more beautiful the picture will be, but the more expensive the monitor will be, and to support the monitor, you’ll need a more powerful graphic card. You can pick a 1080p (1920×1080) for ar 27-inch but aim for 2K resolution (2560×1440).
